! Key Functions

1 Introduction

Your Brydge 9.7 (previously named the BrydgeAir) is designed to fit the iPad Pro 9.7 inch, iPad Air, and iPad Air 2. The Brydge 9.7 ships ready for the iPad Pro 9.7 inch or iPad Air 2 (iPad thickness of 6.1mm). However if you have an iPad Air (iPad thickness of 7.5mm), a small change is required before you can connect the keyboard securely. In the box you have received a second pair of silicone shims. These shims are designed for the increased thickness of the iPad Air and are essential to ensure it is held securely to the keyboard.

    CHANGING THE SHIMS

  • Remove the existing shims that are in the keyboard by pulling them out gently
  • Once removed, ensure there is no remaining glue or residue on the bare hinge.
  • Before removing the tape from the new shims, place them into their respective hinges to ensure you have them paired correctly (right and left).
  • Remove the tape and insert the left shim into the hinge. TIP: Ensure the bottom of the shim is resting in the heal of the hinge before fixing the sides. Repeat the process for the right shim.
  • Once both are installed, insert the iPad and push downwards to make sure the shims are pressing against the hinge correctly.
  • Finally check the grip of the keyboard on the iPad. If there is movement or it is too loose, remove the iPad and gently squeeze the hinge until you get the right amount of pressure on the iPad
    NOTE:
    • Do not stretch the shims when inserting them into the hinge, ensure the fit is perfect.
    • The shims are not interchangeable or reusable. Once removed they will need to be replaced/discarded.
